Love is in the air…

Love is an essential component of healthy development in children. It’s also a gift to be able to demonstrate love to your child and teach them how to express their love. This month, you can expect all the sweetness of Valentine’s paired with practical ways to teach your little one about love! Keep scrolling to explore some of our favorite treats for your little (and big) sweetheart, love themed crafts, worksheets, and so much more!

Connected By Love

If there is one thing I love most, it’s being able to show the people in my life how much I love them. It’s a skill that I am hoping to pass along to my children! A paper heart chain is an easy and cheap way to bring some fun Valentine’s Day cheer to your home. Take it a step further by making a list of your child’s favorite people and write a name on each paper heart. Each day, remove a heart and read the name of the person on the heart. Do something that day to show the person how much you love them – call or FaceTime, mail them a note, stop by and visit, take them a treat, say a prayer for them, donate to a nonprofit in their honor – there are so many ways to show your love!

Bites your whole family will love!

Have you ever noticed how much kids will eat when you cut their food into fun shapes? I purchased a set of small shape and animal cutters from Amazon last year and I get so much use out of them for school lunches, holidays and fun treats!

However, you don’t have to even have fancy tools to make most of these fun treats. A knife will do just fine to cut out your hearts <3 Scroll through the photos below for some of our favorite ways to bring the love into your meals and snacks this month!

How is it going?

Last month, we encouraged you do start a year long challenge that you and your family could enjoy together – reading daily, spending time outside everyday (regardless of the weather), learning a new skill, memorizing scripture,  establishing a routine and sticking with it. How is your challenge going?

In full transparency, I had the best intentions to start a challenge or two for our family and completely failed! Between sickness (RSV, Flu A and some other respiratory virus), work, getting back into the routine of school, and many other things, we just didn’t make it happen. I decided to give myself some grace since January felt like the longest and most chaotic month of my life, and start in February! If you didn’t get into a rhythm in January, join me now and start your challenge in February. Click the button below for a love-ly check chart to keep track of your daily progress – cheers to sticking to our challenges this month!
